In observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, CIT University reaffirmed its commitment to holistic well-being through a webinar titled “Mindful Reset: Little Shifts, Big Impact,” attended onsite and via Zoom by university employees, to explore how small, purposeful adjustments in daily habits can yield significant improvements in mental and emotional health.

The session featured Dr. Jarungchai S. Vatanagul, a neurologist and internist, and Dr. Michele Bathan-Vatanagul, a specialist in internal medicine and aesthetics. Together, they shared practical strategies for cultivating mindfulness, managing stress, and promoting self-care—tools that empower individuals to thrive in both their professional and personal lives. Their insights encouraged participants to view wellness not as an occasional break, but as a sustainable and preventive practice.

As a top Philippine university, CIT University recognizes that excellence extends beyond academic performance. The initiative underscored the importance of mental health as a foundation for productivity, creativity, and community engagement. Through discussions on mindful breathing, balanced routines, and self-awareness, employees were reminded that nurturing the mind is essential to nurturing the institution’s collective spirit.

The onsite session created a safe and reflective space for employees to pause amid their daily responsibilities. Guided mindfulness exercises and stress management reflections helped participants embrace the “little shifts” that lead to a healthier outlook on work and life. The energy in the room reflected the university’s ongoing efforts to create a compassionate and supportive workplace culture.

This initiative is a testament to CIT University’s culture of excellence, where well-being is integral to performance and purpose. By embedding mindfulness into organizational life, the university ensures that every employee feels valued, balanced, and equipped to contribute meaningfully to the university’s vision and mission.

As an engineering university in Cebu, CIT University continues to demonstrate that innovation begins with people—nurturing minds that build, create, and serve. Mental wellness is viewed not as a luxury, but as a necessity for sustainable growth and genuine human development.
