ICYMI: CIT-U Chemical Engineering Students Secure Top 4 Spot at National Quiz Bowl

CIT University’s Chemical Engineering (ChE) students have once again proven their academic prowess by securing the Top 4 spot at the 2024 Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) Student Congress – National Quiz Bowl. Competing against nearly 15 other schools from across the country, the team displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the competition.
Leading the charge were Team Captain Alester M. Cuyos and Assistant Team Captain Joanna O. Quezon, whose leadership and perseverance were key to the team’s success. They were joined by Teodoro M. Natad and alternate Marvin M. Angeles, with the guidance of their dedicated coaches, Engr. Carlo B. Galicia and Engr. Charlie J. Villarba.

ICYMI: CIT-U SHS Researchers Shine at 7th DOH Central Visayas Regional Research Congress

CIT University Senior High School researchers have once again made a mark in the academic world by securing 2nd Place in the SHS Poster Category at the 7th Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH Central Visayas CHD) Regional Research Congress. The prestigious event took place on September 6, 2024, at Solea Coast Resort, Panglao, Bohol, and was organized in collaboration with the Health Information Research and Development Section (HIRDS) and the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center (GCGMMC).
The team of young innovators from CIT-U impressed the judges with their groundbreaking research, “EXPO Peanuts: A Recall Ability Booster for Grade 11 STEM Students at Cebu Institute of Technology—University.” Their study, which explored the cognitive benefits of peanuts, has opened new avenues for enhancing memory recall and boosting academic performance among STEM students. This accomplishment demonstrates their determination to push the boundaries of health research and contribute to improving learning outcomes.
Special recognition goes to their dedicated Research Adviser, Mr. Algene T. Radaza, and Research Consultant, Ms. Alyeska Eirjelle C. Cuevas, whose mentorship was instrumental in guiding these students toward success.
