A Press Conference of Excellence and Dedication

In another press conference for CIT University’s topnotchers and 89th FIRST Placer, CIT-U President Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor opened the event with an inspiring story about Engr. Raymond Geoman, who achieved the Top 1 spot in the April 2024 Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination. Engr. Villamor recounted how Engr. Geoman’s exceptional troubleshooting skills and deep understanding of problems led him to solve a challenging issue with nothing but a simple resistor. This story exemplified the high level of skill and innovation that CIT University instills in its students, proudly showcasing the quality and effectiveness of CIT-U’s culture of excellence and education.

CIT University is thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in the August 2024 Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination. The university proudly announces that Christopher Regino B. Maranga has achieved the TOP 1 position, Jane Edje A. Sayago has secured Top 4, and John Dale M. Quiñones has earned Top 5. This remarkable success follows the university’s recent triumph in the April 2024 exams, where we also claimed the TOP 1 position in the same licensure examination, highlighting CIT University’s consistent excellence in electrical engineering.

The press conference provided an insightful glimpse into the topnotchers’ journeys. Christopher, Jane, and John shared their experiences, challenges, and even superstitions with the media. Their candid discussions about their rigorous study routines, support from mentors and peers, and the sacrifices they made reflect the high standards of CIT University’s Electrical Engineering program.

During the event, Dr. Evangeline Evangelista, Dean of the College of Engineering, elaborated on how CIT University maintains its status as a leading engineering school in Cebu and continues to produce topnotchers year after year. She highlighted the comprehensive nature of the university’s engineering programs, including rigorous coursework and mock board exams that account for 10% of the final grade. Atty. Corazon Evangelista-Valencia, the VPAA, also emphasized that the engineering programs are accredited by PACUCOA, reflecting CIT University’s commitment to providing quality education through rigorous accreditation standards.

CIT University’s commitment to excellence is embedded in its educational philosophy. The institution is dedicated to nurturing a culture of innovation and quality education, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). As the university celebrates the achievements of its topnotchers, it reaffirms its commitment to shaping the future through academic rigor, innovative practices, and a passion for excellence. Congratulations to Christopher, Jane, and John, and to the entire Electrical Engineering department for their remarkable accomplishments. Their success is a testament to the power of dedication, hard work, and unwavering support.
