Industrial Engineering Department Hosts Vibrant SDG Week 

The Industrial Engineering department at CIT University recently held a dynamic SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Week, celebrating the 17 SDGs of the United Nations through engaging booths, innovative products, and insightful presentations. 

Each booth featured a campaign for an assigned SDG, where students distributed flyers and displayed informative posters to share updates and facts about the goals. These efforts aimed to raise awareness and educate attendees on the importance of sustainable development. Students passionately showcased their commitment to sustainability, demonstrating how each SDG can improve our world. This inspiring event deepened their understanding and appreciation of these crucial goals, empowering them to envision their roles in promoting sustainability as students and future professionals. 

CIT University is dedicated to fostering a culture of sustainability and global responsibility. Through initiatives like SDG Week, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to drive positive change in their communities and beyond.  

Team WildHats 2.0 Clinches HackForGov 2024 Championship 

Congratulations to the remarkable victory of our students from the College of Computer Studies, who clinched the CHAMPIONSHIP title at the prestigious HackForGov 2024 Capture-The-Flag Competition. Held on July 19, 2024, at the Golden Prince Hotel in Cebu City, Team WildHats 2.0 showcased their exceptional prowess and collaboration, competing against elite institutions from Region 7.

Their win is a testament to their hard work, strategic thinking, and technical expertise. This victory is not just a personal achievement for the team but a significant milestone for our college. As the champions of Region 7, they will now advance to represent our region in the National HackForGov competition this October. 

The HackForGov competition is a prestigious event that tests participants’ cybersecurity skills. It requires them to solve complex problems and defend against simulated cyber-attacks. Team WildHats 2.0’s success underscores the quality of education and training provided at CIT University. 

CIT University Hosts AI Integration Training for Faculty 

CIT University recently held a three-day training program, “AI EmpowerED: Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Education,” to help faculty members integrate AI into their teaching practices. 

Organized by the CREATE (Center for e-Learning and Technology Education) and led by Dr. Larmie S. Feliscuzo with Dr. Chris Jordan Aliac, the sessions covered AI fundamentals, machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and ethical considerations. Faculty engaged in hands-on activities to experience AI tools firsthand. The training also focused on AI-enhanced learning materials, data-driven instruction, and best practices for AI integration, featuring case studies and collaborative learning strategies. 

The program concluded with a Badging Ceremony, recognizing the achievements of our dedicated faculty members. This initiative places CIT University at the forefront of AI education, ensuring our students receive top-quality, future-ready education.
