AI Empowered Sessions for CIT University Educators Hit Day 2

Another day, another learning experience! Our CIT University educators has delved into day two of “AI EmpowerED: Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Education” training which was led by Dr. Larmie Feliscuzo and Dr. Chris Jordan Aliac last April 6, 2024, Saturday.  

This time around, the educators were introduced to AI fundamentals, including machine learning, natural language processing, and ethical AI use in education, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal: 4 Quality Education. Along with it, the educators explored the AI tools that equip them with the skills to enhance their teaching practices through hands-on activities.  

As a top university, it is CIT University’s unwavering dedication to integrating cutting-edge technology into education through initiatives like “AI EmpowerED”. This significant step enhances the teaching methods of these educators and serves as a step for us to champion inclusivity and accessibility in education.  

CIT University Meets with Representative of PTC Group of Companies 

In case you missed it, CIT University met with the representative of PTC Group of Companies in a pivotal meeting last April 9, 2024, Tuesday at the Wildcat Innovation Lab. The pivotal meeting consisted of the CIT Administrators such as VP Academic Affairs Atty. Corazon Valencia and VP Administration Mr. John Gregory Jigger Escario, and General Manager of PTC Group of Companies’ Mr. Marcus Leslie Suntay.  

This meeting emphasized the enhancement of graduate employability, forging of sustainable development projects, and the promotion of sports—which aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).  

Another Yay for our BS Civil Engineering Batch ‘88 Alumni Visit 

CIT University has welcomed a special visit from our beloved BS Civil Engineering Batch ‘88 alumni, reigniting fond memories and reinforcing the enduring bond between alma mater and graduates. With their visit, we were reminded as to why we continue to foster lifelong learning and engagement within our community, which also aligns with our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal #4: Quality Education. Their visit does not only reflect the past that was built within the halls of the university but also celebrates the cherished camaraderie and ongoing connection that was established.  

CIT University Empowers Local Enterprises through Community Extension 

In a collaborative effort, CIT University’s Marketing Office and the Community Extension Services Office, which is headed by Dr. Lunin Villacastin, conducted a design packaging training called “Harvest to Home: Crafting Simple and Impactful Package Designs” last April 5-6, 2024, at the Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative main headquarters located in Pinamungajan, Cebu, in partnership with them.  

Aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals #8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), #12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and #17 (Partnership for the Goals), this transformative design packaging training shared cutting-edge principles. Attendees from Marketing, HR, and front office departments collaborated dynamically, culminating in a trial design for their Cara Milk Beauty Soap product. Through this impactful initiative, CIT University hopes to nurture its culture of excellence and to cultivate collective efforts in the journey towards sustainability.  

Transforming Mining Engineering Education Through Innovation 

Safety Education with Innovation! Ten (10) faculty members from the Caraga State University visited CIT University and showcased their latest innovation dubbed MARVEL (Mining Augmented Reality and Virtual E-learning) Technologies. This innovation, which is part of the R&D NICER Program: Sustainable Mineral and Mining Operations Using Industry 4.0, is set to revolutionize mining engineering education—emphasizing its safety education.  

Through immersive AR/VR simulations, this VR application sets a new approach for educational and industry to practice mine safety training. With its help, Mining Engineering students can be equipped with cutting-edge skills for safer, more efficient mining operations. This collaboration between the two universities underscores the lifelong commitment of CIT University as a top university for quality education and innovative infrastructure, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
