Mockingjay, may your aim be as true as your heart is pure.

Hello, Panem! It’s the time of the year! Wildcats’ one of the most anticipated events of the academic calendar has come: the annual celebration of Intramurals. But this year, CIT University took things up differently by embracing the theme of Hunger Games, transforming the traditional sporting event into a thrilling spectacle of competition, camaraderie and survival of the fittest. Let’s have a glimpse of The Hunger Games Redux 2024!

The Intramurals opening started off with a grand Parade around the campus, echoing the grandeur of the Capitol’s chariot procession. Each department spared no expense in crafting elaborate floats and costumes for their respective districts and candidates. The school spirit roared from the spectators, setting the stage for the exhilarating contests to follow.

Following the Parade, the highlight of the opening program was the crowning event of Mr. and Ms. Intramurals. The different tributes vied for the title with poise, charisma and confidence as they embodied the spirit of their respective districts with pride. From dazzling performances and showcase of astonishing costumes, each candidate left an indelible mark on the hearts of the audience members and judges alike. Mr. Lampauog Renato from District 1 was hailed Mr. CIT-U 2024 and Ms. Sheree Marie Danday from District 12 as Ms. CIT-U 2024.

The Wildcats’ excitement reached fever pitch as the Dance Palabas commenced following the Mr. And Ms. Intramurals. The students showcased their creativity and passion through captivating performances inspired by the themes of survival and resilience. Each dance showcased an intricate and dynamic storytelling with a testament to their teamwork and expression of determination, as they represent their districts. District 8 claimed the CHAMPION title with an outstanding performance and huge audience impact even from the different districts.

One of the awaited and most watched events in the Intramurals was the Mathematician of the Year Competition. The ten (10) finalists pitted their wits against each other in a series of challenging mathematical puzzles and equations, proving that intelligence is just as valuable a weapon as strength or skill. Jude Bernard V. Miñoza from BSCE – 2 was hailed the Mathematician of the Year 2024 and was awarded as the top performing student in MATH237 Differential Equations.

And of course, no Intramurals would be complete without the adrenaline-pumping sports competitions. Volleyball, badminton, basketball, table tennis, scrabble, chess – the campus was transformed into a battleground as teams clashed in a fierce battle for supremacy. The Hunger Games theme added an extra layer of excitement and determination, fueling the competitive fire and inspiring athletes to give their all-in pursuit of victory.
