CIT University tops in the 2023 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE)

The CIT University, top Philippine university, has once again left a trail of a well-deserved accolades as they reaped not just one, but three outstanding awards during the 2023 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE) organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI).
The 2023 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE) was organized to serve as a platform of recognition for the Filipino inventors and celebrate their significant contribution to the national economic development. It is uniquely conducted by clusters, having Visayas Cluster comprised of participants from Regions IV, VII, and VIII.
The CIT University has been awarded with three outstanding awards: the Outstanding Creative Research (Likha Award) – Private Funded as First Place with a project title “Braille-Based Haptic Device for Deaf-Blind and Slighted Communication; Outstanding Student Creative Research (Sibol Award) High School First place for the project title “Impact Resistance of Magay Plant (Agave cantala) Fiber-Reinforced Gypsum, and; Third place for the Outstanding Student Creative Research (Sibol Award) in the College category for the project title “Browser-based Home Automation Outlet as Access Point and Station Point Mode with Energy Consumption Readings, Mesh Networks, and Short Circuit Protection.
These remarkable accomplishments serve as a beacon of their scientific and innovative commitment, truly embodying the attributes of a true Technologian. With the maroon and gold of CIT University, this may serve as a bright guide for each Technologian towards their journey to excellence. All Hail!
CIT University’s College of Computer Studies topped during the Hack4Gov Finals 2023 National Level

At the Manila Grand Opera Hotel, Sta. Cruz, Manila, the CIT University’s College of Computer Studies has cracked the code of excellence by bagging two prestigious awards at the Hack4Gov Finals 2023 (National Level). The Central Visayas Team from CIT University has claimed its First Runner-up, and Mr. Sly Bacalso has been pronounced as the Top performer for the said event.
The Hack4Gov Finals 2023 (National Level) Capture-the-Flag Competition with the theme “Building Cyber Champions: Stronger Nation through Cyber Awareness and Action” was organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology to foster and integrate the cyber awareness and its need for action.
The accomplishment of the College of Computer Studies aren’t just a simple combination of zeroes and ones; they are a source of inspiration, especially with their brilliant synergy of innovation and expertise that charactered the maroon and gold spirit of CIT University, as a top university.
CIT – U Makerspace welcomed DTI Officials for site validation

CIT University, as a top Philippine university, has constantly strive to maintain the culture of excellence—establishing and creating doors for thousands of opportunities for the CIT-U community. As an initiative to excellence, the CIT – U Makerspace has recently hosted and welcomed the delegation from the Department of Trade and Industry Region VII (DTI 7), led by Engr. Joenero B. Bollozos, the head of Industry Development Division, for a site validation at our Makerspace. This honorable visit marked as an essential step in the DTI’s Shared Space Facilities (SSF) Project, wherein possible partnership and collaboration is made.
This DTI Shared Space Facilities (SSF) Project is a public-private partnership initiative being implemented through eligible cooperators who can house and support the machinery and equipment and make these accessible to the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This project would mark a significant step in the history of CIT University in relation to community service and regional development through innovation and shared resources. It is with our utmost anticipation to integrate positive impact on this collaboration—which echoes CIT University, as a top university, goals and commitment to innovation and community service.
