CIT University Celebrates Tradition of Honors: Parangal and Coronation of the King of Engineers

The CIT University Parangal 2023 officially commenced to honor our outstanding student achievers for the school year 2022-2023. At the lead of the awardees is Ms. Arriane Formentera Yu (BSIT-4), Summa Cum Laude, being the batch valedictorian.

The King of Engineers for school year 2022-2023 was also crowned. This year’s King of Engineers is Mr. Vijay De Guma, who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He was crowned by CIT-U President, Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor. Along with his family in attendance, his members of the court loudly cheered for this joyous milestone. All hail!

CIT-U Elementary reaped awards during the CESAFI 2023!

As the top university of Cebu, we shout our loudest and proudest roar to our CIT-U Elementary Department as they were on a roll this month of May as they brought the bacon for the university in the CESAFI 2023! CIT-U Elementary has won in several categories:

  • CHAMPIONS on the Vocal Duet Elementary Category that was held at USPF Lahug last April 28, 2023 with Neil Ranzoh V. Olarte and Rod Andrew M. Piscos, and Rod Andrew M. Piscos as the CHAMPION for the Vocal Solo Competition. 
  • CHAMPION in the Declamation Competition courtesy of Zakkiyyah Junais Muhammed Alpajora that was held at USC South Campus last May 4, 2023. A superb performance that was coached by Coach Honeylyn C. Del Corro. 
  • CHAMPION for the General Info and Current Events that was bagged by Angel Ann B. Rizaga, Keith Gino James O. Lapiña, and Aidan Reu C. Lazo at UC Lapulapu-Mandaue last May 5, 2023. 
  • TOP spot in the Computer Quiz Bowl held at CIT-U LRAC last May 11, 2023.
  • 1st Runner-up for the Science Quiz Bowl on last April 19, 2023 that was held in Robinsons Galleria Cebu—a big kudos to Robie Andrey Y. Verdin, Zakkiyyah Junais Muhammed Alpajora, and Rod Andrew M. Piscos and well of course, with the support and guidance with their Coach Cresilda T. Misterio. 
  • 2nd Runner-up for Spelling Competition Elementary Category that was also held in Robinsons Galleria Cebu last April 20, 2023—courtesy of Matthew Pearce B. Pacaña and to his Coach Diana Rhain C. Cabello. 
  • 2nd Runner-up for the Robotics Cup 
  • 3rd place in the Essay Writing Contest Elementary category
  • Aside from the CESAFI 2023, Raffy Reyniel U. Bataluna placed the 3rd Runner Up & the Highest Single Turn “Remount” for 90 Points in SM Seaside City Cebu last May 7, 2023 

CIT-U High School Department takes their place on CESAFI 2023

CIT-U High School would not like to be keeping under the thumb as they paved their way to the take their place in CESAFI 2023.

  • Congratulations to Stephen Lloyd Raganas being hailed as the CESAFI Oratorical Contest CHAMPION and to Coach Rick Ryan Campana for the diligence in training and practices.
  • CIT-U Wins 2nd Place in CESAFI High School Declamation Contest 
  • A roaring KUDOS goes out to Zeyar Andrea B. Sia and Coach Reyna B. Cambal for grabbing the 2nd Place of the Declamation Contest for CESAFI 2023 High School Division.
  • Outstanding performance in the 1st Open Scrabble Tournament High School Category. Kudos to Leo Paolo Y. Ballaso for winning 1st Runner Up, while Dan Krauss S. Salud grabbed the 5th Runner Up spot
  • Kudos as well to Ms. Loreime Ann B. Rosario, the Scrabble team Head Coach, for the diligence in nurturing our athletes in this path of excellence.
  • CONGRATULATIONS to the students and coaches of CIT University who participated in the recently concluded CESAFI 2023 Robotics Cup for grabbing the winning spots against other Cebu universities.

A Lineup of Wins for CIT-U College Department

  • CONGRATULATIONS CIT University for bagging FIRST RUNNER UP in the CESAFI Math Quiz Bowl College level! We give a loud Wildcats roar to Raymond O. Geoman (BSEE-4), Jude Noel P. Jarina (BSEE-2), and Jude Bernard V. Miñoza (BSCE-1), and also also to their coach, Engr. Karla Jane Puracan, for the awesome win!
  • CIT-U CCS Tops Again! The College of Computer Studies once again won two Best Paper Awards at the International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (iRCITE) for Computer Science students and Graduate Level categories! The first study was authored by Computer Science students and faculty, Mary Yssabelle Hermosa, Jivielyn Mae Sales, Jensine Tabasa, and co-authored by Dr. Cherry Lyn Sta. Romana, and Dr. Chris Jordan Aliac, while the graduate study was authored by Master in Computer Science student, Gardson Binasbas, and co-authored by CCS Dean Dr. Cherry Lyn C Sta. Romana, and CCS Faculty Dr. Chris Jordan Aliac.
  • CIT-U Men’s volleyball team TOPS again! After defeating the other Central Visayas teams (men’s volleyball category) during the Regional PRISAA (Private Schools Athletic Association) games, the CIT-U Men’s Volleyball team emerged as regional PRISAA champion and will represent Region 7 at the national level in Zamboanga City in July. 
  • CIT University Sweeps Robotics Cup in CESAFI 2023! CONGRATULATIONS to the students and coaches of CIT University who participated in the recently concluded CESAFI 2023 Robotics Cup for grabbing the winning spots against other Cebu universities. Kudos to Jayco Belle Punay and Chris Camus, the champions for this technology-laden competition.
