At the heart of what we do is the nurturing of our community, such as how we empower SHS parents as they support their children and our students in our collective learning spaces.

At Cebu Institute of Technology – University (CIT University), we believe that education does not stop at the classroom door—it extends to families, communities, and society as a whole. Guided by our culture of excellence and universality, we recognize that every parent, student, and educator is part of a larger shared responsibility to nurture safe, inclusive, and empowering environments.

As a top Philippine university and a recognized SDG university, CIT University continues to align its initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). On September 6, 2025, the Senior High School Guidance Center, in collaboration with the Senior High School Department, spearheaded its 3rd Parent Empowerment Activity, with the session dubbed as “Understanding Bullying Beyond the Surface: Legal Consequences & Physiological Impact.”

Bullying deeply affects mental and physical well-being. By addressing its psychological impact on victims, perpetrators, and bystanders, the seminar emphasized CIT University’s role in safeguarding student wellness—a vital step in building a healthy, sustainable future.

Quality education requires safe learning spaces. By equipping parents with knowledge on policies, responsibilities, and strategies for prevention, the event reinforced the partnership between home and school in fostering academic focus and personal growth.

Bullying thrives where inequality persists. This session empowered parents to identify and address patterns of exclusion, ensuring that every learner—regardless of background—has the opportunity to flourish.

With Atty. Christian Arias Fernandez as guest speaker, parents gained valuable insight into the legal consequences of bullying. This supports the establishment of stronger systems of accountability and fairness—essential in protecting the rights of students and families.

Behind this successful initiative is the collective effort of the Guidance Office, SHS Department, Parent Facilitators, BS Psychology Interns, and safety and support staff. Their dedication reflects CIT University’s culture of excellence—one that goes beyond academic achievement to champion holistic development and social responsibility.

At CIT University, we stand with our students and their families. We continue to shape communities where education, empathy, and empowerment thrive.
