CIT University Welcomes Unilab Education in Exploratory Partnership Visit

The CIT University Unilab Education partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping learners gain the skills, certifications, and confidence that employers are actively seeking. Imagine graduating not just with a diploma, but with the specific skills, certifications, and confidence that hospitals, clinics, and tech companies are actively looking for. Imagine being a working professional who doesn’t have to start over just to stay relevant in a changing industry. That is the kind of future CIT University and Unilab Education (UniEd) are working toward — together.

This month, the UniEd team, headed by Unilab Education Director for Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, Mr. Ramon Ma. Miguel M. Barredo, along with Unilab Vice President for Corporate IT, Mr. Ronnie Barretto and Mr. Harbie Abellanosa of the Department of Health, visited the CIT University campus for a series of focused discussions on deepening their ongoing collaboration, with particular attention to the fields of information technology and health sciences.
CIT University Unilab Education Partnership for Students
The conversations explored pathways that go beyond degree completion — programs that could bridge the classroom and the clinic, preparing graduates who arrive at work already built for the roles the industry needs.
For Working Professionals and Career-Shifters
The discussions also touched on certification programs and continuing education initiatives that could help those already in the workforce upskill, transition, or advance — on their own terms and timelines.
CIT University Unilab Education Partnership for Industry
For industry, this growing partnership signals a pipeline of talent that is not just academically prepared, but practically trained for roles where the demand for skilled, ready-now professionals continues to grow.

As part of the visit, the UniEd delegation — joined by CIT-U College of Computer Studies (CCS) Dean Dr. Cherry Lyn Sta. Romana, CIT-U BS Information Technology Department Chair Dr. Cheryl B. Pantaleon, and CIT-U CCS Faculty members Dr. Leah V. Barbaso, Dr. Patrick L. Bacalso, and Mr. Jay Vince D. Serato, along with the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (CNAHS) Dean Dr. Judith D. Ismael, CNAHS Faculty Mr. Jason Lim, Ms. Marnellie Obeso, and Ms. Jonah Novo — toured CIT University’s CCS and CNAHS facilities.
The tours offered both sides a firsthand look at existing facilities, programs, and the spaces where these ideas could take shape. In addition, they provided opportunities to identify areas where collaboration could create meaningful learning experiences for future students and professionals.
Both institutions are actively mapping the next steps, with a shared commitment to making this partnership meaningful for every learner it will reach. As discussions continue, the CIT University Unilab Education partnership aims to support industry-aligned learning opportunities that benefit students, working professionals, and employers alike.
