The growing gap between industry demands and workforce readiness continues to challenge businesses across Cebu. As industries rapidly adapt to digital transformation, automation, and artificial intelligence, the need for future-ready talent has become more urgent than ever. To help address these challenges, leaders from industry, government, and academe gathered for Problem Day 2026 Cebu, a solutions-oriented forum organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) through its Academe-Industry Alliance, in partnership with Cebu Institute of Technology – University.

Held on May 6, 2026, at the College Library Activity Center of CIT University, the forum focused on identifying real workforce challenges faced by key industries in Cebu and aligning academic, training, and government initiatives toward practical and collaborative solutions.

The forum highlighted a growing concern shared by many industries: businesses need graduates and professionals who can quickly adapt to evolving technologies, changing work environments, and global market demands.

In his opening message, Mr. Regan Rex King, President of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of stronger industry-academe-government partnerships in preparing Cebu’s workforce for rapidly evolving economic and technological demands.
