Students who choose a top Philippine university don’t just look at facilities—they look at the people who will train them. At Cebu Institute of Technology – University (CIT-U), a recognized engineering university in Cebu, the strength of its Electrical Engineering program is anchored on mentors whose expertise is validated not only nationally but across Southeast Asia. This strong faculty lineup directly supports the university’s culture of excellence, reflected in its consistent performance in the Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination (REELE).

Since 2024, CIT-U has produced three national first placers (Top 1) in the REELE: Engr. Raymond Omboy Geoman, who ranked Top 1 in the April 2024 exam with a 95.00% rating; Engr. Christopher Regino Brodith Maranga, who topped the August 2024 exam with 93.20%; and Engr. Jolly Babe Mallari Siago, who led the August 2025 exam with 93.45%. These results affirm CIT-U’s standing as a top university for aspiring electrical engineers in the Philippines.

Building on this tradition of success, the Electrical Engineering Department now celebrates another milestone: two of its faculty members have been admitted into the ASEAN Engineer Register (AER), a regional distinction granted only to engineers who meet stringent standards of professional competence, leadership, and ethical practice.

The Electrical Engineering Department of CIT-U proudly congratulates Engr. Erwin Salvador, who is at the same time selected as Governor of Eastern and Central Visayas, and Engr. Felipe Nillama for their well-deserved recognition as ASEAN Engineers. Their inclusion in the AER signals that the same quality that produces board topnotchers is also present in the faculty who guide and mentor Technologians every day.

This recognition means learning from practitioners whose work is benchmarked not only locally but at the ASEAN level—bringing in industry-aligned insights, regional best practices, and leadership perspectives that prepare graduates for careers in a rapidly integrating Southeast Asian market. This aligns with CIT-U’s commitment as an emerging SDG University, where academic excellence goes hand in hand with relevance to society, sustainable development, and nation-building.

These achievements, both in licensure performance and faculty recognition, underscore CIT-U’s continuing mission to form highly competent, values-driven professionals. As a leading engineering university in Cebu, CIT-U remains focused on shaping engineers who can thrive in global workplaces while contributing to the country’s growth and the wider ASEAN community.

CIT University celebrates this new milestone with pride and gratitude. Congratulations, Engr. Salvador and Engr. Nillama, for uplifting the engineering profession and further elevating the Electrical Engineering Department and our Technologian community.
