Cebu Institute of Technology – University, a top Philippine university known for being the CHED-designated Center of Excellence in IT Education in Region 7 and its strong culture of excellence, continues to lead again in innovation when it partnered with one of its very own alumni-led software solutions.
After becoming the first partner university of CodeChum in 2019, CIT University proudly takes the lead once more as the very first partner for GradeChum, upholding its legacy of producing innovators, leaders, and changemakers.
What makes this milestone even more meaningful is that both CodeChum and GradeChum were founded by Mr. Jemar Jude Maranga, a graduate of CIT University’s College of Computer Studies. This achievement reflects how a Technologian education and environment allow the best potentials of students to shine—from classroom ideas to industry-transforming innovations.
GradeChum paves the way for teachers’ way of handling grading—saving time, improving accuracy, and giving students the gift of timely feedback. For faculty and educators, it is a glimpse of the future where technology supports, rather than replaces, the human touch in teaching. For students and aspiring innovators, it is proof that with the right foundation, the leap from being a student to becoming a startup leader is well within reach.

This renewed partnership also highlights CIT University’s strong culture of innovation and its role as an SDG University, advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It is a testament to the university’s mission to empower people and communities through education, research, and technology.
Once again, CIT University proves that it is more than just a place for learning—it is a launchpad where legacy meets innovation, and where graduates continue to lead the way in shaping the future.
