In a momentous celebration held on October 14, 2024, CIT University’s Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) marked its 25th anniversary, honoring two and a half decades of transforming lives through education. The event recognized 25 outstanding Lifelong Learning Exemplars — individuals who have achieved remarkable success by harnessing the power of lifelong learning. These exemplars represent Filipinos from across the archipelago and those working overseas, embodying the spirit of continuous personal and professional growth that CIT University ETEEAP has championed since its inception.
The celebration was a tribute to the university’s exemplary graduates and a reflection of CIT University’s commitment to providing inclusive, accessible education to Filipino learners, wherever they may be. The event highlighted the program’s impact on improving lives through education, aligning with the global call for sustainable development.

The same-day celebration also came with another exciting announcement: the renewal of CIT University’s AUTONOMOUS STATUS from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This prestigious designation recognizes the university’s academic excellence, innovation, and enhanced educational services, which continue to thrive after 25 years of ETEEAP’s successful delivery to a growing community of learners.
As part of CIT University’s dedication to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the university has made significant strides toward SDG 4 (Quality Education) by ensuring lifelong learning opportunities, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by providing accessible education across diverse geographic locations, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by empowering individuals to advance in their careers locally and globally.
The event was live-streamed on Facebook, allowing the wider CIT University community, alums, and supporters to join the celebrations. The day’s activities culminated in the release of an inspiring same-day edit video showcasing the event’s highlights and paying tribute to the university’s ongoing journey of excellence and innovation.
“We are proud of the impact we have made over the past 25 years, and we look forward to continuing this legacy of lifelong learning and educational innovation for many more years to come,” said Engr. Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor, CIT University President.
This milestone event underscores CIT University’s enduring commitment to fostering sustainable education, empowering Filipinos worldwide, and shaping the future through academic excellence.
