In a vibrant display of creativity and commitment to sustainability, the Department of Industrial Engineering recently hosted the SDG Boothfest 2024, marking a significant milestone in the students’ journey through their course, SSP032: Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship. This engaging event took place on campus and attracted over 1,000 attendees, demonstrating a strong community interest in sustainability.

The Boothfest featured a series of interactive exhibits, with each group of students dedicating their efforts to a specific Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). From eradicating poverty to promoting clean energy, the booths transformed theoretical classroom concepts into tangible, hands-on experiences. Attendees were invited to engage with the exhibits, fostering a deeper understanding of the pressing global challenges our world faces today.

One of the event’s highlights was the booth that attracted over 300 eager participants, showcasing the community’s desire to engage in sustainability efforts. Each booth presented innovative concepts while also prompting attendees to consider their own contributions to fostering a more sustainable future. The success of SDG Boothfest 2024 underscores the importance of education in fostering global citizenship. The event empowered students to take action beyond the classroom, cultivating a sense of responsibility toward their communities and the planet. By engaging with their peers and the local community, students demonstrated how knowledge can lead to meaningful change.

As we celebrate the remarkable efforts of the students involved in this initiative, it is clear that events like the SDG Boothfest play a crucial role in raising awareness about sustainability and encouraging collective action. The Department of Industrial Engineering is proud of its students for their dedication to making a positive impact and inspiring others to join in the pursuit of a sustainable future.
