CESAFI Season 22
The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Incorporated (CESAFI) accommodated the press members in Marco Polo hotel on October 12, 2022, to prepare for the 22nd season opening on October 15, 2022. As the current CESAFI President, CIT-University President Bernard Nicolas E. Villamor attended the press conference along with the organization officials to answer questions related to the event opening. The press conference was also shown live in CESAFI’s official Facebook page in cooperation with CIT University’s media production team under the Center for Communications, Creatives, and Marketing. The CESAFI tournament runs from October 2022 to January 2023, with CIT University participating in different games that include Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field, Esports, and Scrabble.
#OneDOST4U: 2022 National Science & Technology Week
Being a top performing school in Cebu, the CIT-University’s Research and Development Coordinating Office, in partnership with the University of the Philippines-Cebu and the University of San Carlos, presented their DOST Grants-in-aid project, “Project DRACRAWLA.” Project DRACRAWLA or Drainage Crawler/Probe Development for Drainage Inspection, undertaken under UP CENVI’s Smart Cities Solutions to Urban Flooding (SMART TUrF) Program, aims to develop a remote-controlled robot that will aid the local government units in Mandaue City in drainage inspection. This project was presented in Robinson’s Galleria from October 12-14, 2022, with the theme: Agham at Teknolohiya: Kabalikat sa Maunlad at Matatag na Kinabukasan.
PQA 25th Anniversary
Cebu Institute of Technology University, represented by Engr. Alein Navares, HR Director and QA Officer for Administration, attended the 25th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) held in the Philippine International Convention Center on October 12, 2022. As a PQA awardee, CIT University joined the other PQA Awardees, government agencies, and partners in celebrating the culture of high quality and performance that has uplifted the standards of the Philippine corporations and organizations. The PQA award is given to companies and organizations that have achieved world-class status and displayed evidence of excellence in their daily operations.
DOST’s Awarding of Honor Graduates
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) recognized and awarded the DOST scholar graduates of SY 2021-2022 in Central Visayas who graduated with honors. With the theme “In Touch with Excellence”, the event recognized the efforts of the honor graduates in displaying excellence. DOST also recognized the participation of the different universities, including CIT-University, the scholarship coordinators, Science and Technology provincial offices, and scholarship associations. Furthermore, our very own Director for Management Information Systems, Dr. Larmie S. Feliscuzo, is the guest speaker of this esteemed gathering.
